
Waffles with Butter and Syrup
G Hook (4 mm) [Gauge is NOT terribly important for this. It’s just breakfast food.

Red Heart Cornmeal (A), Yellow (B), Brown (C)
Yarn needle
Waffle Sides (Make 4):
With A, Ch 26. Work Stitch pattern until piece measures approx 5-1/2 inches.
STITCH PATTERN
Foundation Row: Dc in 4th ch from hook (beg ch counts as 1 dc), dc in each ch across.
Row 1 (WS): Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), turn. Skip first st, dc in next st, *FPDC in each of next 2 sts, dc in next st; rep from * across, end dc in last st, dc in top of turning ch.
Row 2 (RS): Ch 3, turn. Skip first st, *FPDC in next st, dc in each of next 2 sts; rep from * across, end with FPDC in last dc, dc in top of turning ch.
Rep rows 1 and 2 for Waffle Pattern.
Finishing:
Holding 2 Waffle pieces ws tog, reverse sc matching stitches in ea piece tog around. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Butter:
With B, Ch 7.
R1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. Ch 1. Turn
R2: Sc across.
Rep R2 4x.
Syrup:
With C, Ch 2.
R1: Sc 6 in 2nd from hook. Join with sl st. Ch 1. Do not turn.
R2: 2sc in ea sc around. Join with sl st. Ch 1. Do not turn.
R3: 2sc in same, *sc, 2sc in next, rep * around. Join with sl st. Ch 1. Do not turn.
R4: *sc, ch 11, sc in 2nd & 3rd ch, hdc 3, dc 4, tr, [on circle] skip 2 sc *, rep * around. Ch 3.
R5: *hdc, sc 10, ch 2, sc 10* around. Fasten off.
Assembly:
Stack the 2 waffles perpendicular to one another.
Place the syrup and the butter on top. You should have something that looks like this:
Sorry about the crap pic. I just don’t have any with me to post right now.
Using the yarn needle and Color A, Stitch the 4 pieces together through the middle of the Butter.
You should have a glorious stack of fresh made waffles.
