About the HappyHooker Blog
This is a blog dedicated to crochet, knitting, and cross-stitch. Patterns, charts, journaling, yarn, stitches, whatever. All of my patterns are free, but I’ve worked hard to make them, so please, credit me if you make something, and for pity’s sake, please don’t sell the patterns. Go right ahead and sell your finished objects, though. 🙂
I design 95% of the charts I use in my crochet and cross stitch projects. While I am happy to share these designs with everyone, here are some answers to my more frequently asked questions:
1. I love your [Insert Chart name here] chart. Can you make me [Other chart name] chart? – No. I chart pieces that I intend to make and only those. I make what I chart, and so I don’t really have time to chart things I won’t be using. Sorry.
2. How can I resize this chart? – You can often add or subtract rows from the background of any given chart to make it a different size. I will not rechart something to make it a different size. Sorry.
3. I’m having trouble with [a specific technique]. Can you email me to walk me through it? – No. I am not in a position to provide additional support for any given techniques. I have done a photo tutorial on tapestry crochet; see How to Follow a Chart Using Tapestry Crochet. Other than that, please utilize Google or YouTube to gain access to other tutorials.
4. I can’t read a chart. Will you write out the pattern? – No. I don’t use written patterns for my work, and as such, I will not be writing out counts for each row for any of my charts. If you do so, please let me know and I will link to your instructions in the pattern.
This may all sound really harsh, and I’m sorry for that. But I am not a professional crochet artist or designer. This is my hobby, which I offer for free to you to peruse. I am not in a position to be an unpaid designer, pattern finder, or technique guru.
I hope you have fun with my patterns, but I have disabled comments on all new posts because I have gotten so many demands for additional help and services.
